Nevertheless, they don’t want regulation to be in
the form of a government ‘backlash.’ They
want to be sitting at the table deciding

A Natural
Choice for
Meeting
Products
Professional Marketing Services Inc. has
launched a green meetings division, offering a line of recycled and organic promotional items for meetings and conventions.
The line includes lanyards made from recycled soda and water bottles; bags and T-shirts made from organic cotton and
recycled materials; pens and notebooks
made from recycled money, tires and
newspapers; and 100 percent compostable
plastic cups made from corn derivatives.
Manufacturers in the United States,
China and India have begun to produce
cost-effective recycled and organic materials in response to the demands of the
market. PMSI has researched each product
to certify its authenticity as recycled or
organic.
“We expect this line of recycled and
organic products to account for 15 to 20
percent of our total sales for 2007-08,”
says Marty Bear, PMSI owner and president. “The launch of this line is in direct
response to the needs of our customers.
The meetings industry is aware of environmental issues facing the global community and wants to do their part in ‘going
green.’”
