The CFA Society of Chicago
has hired Angela K. McKay,
CAE, as its new president
and CEO. Previously, McKay
was director of constituent
services for the Chicago-based Academy
of General Dentistry, where she worked for
three years.
SmithBucklin has named
Brad Weaber, CMP, its
executive vice president
of event services. Weaber,
who joined SmithBucklin
in 2008, will continue in his previous role
as president of Courtesy Associates, the
company’s Washington, D.C.-based meet-
ing planning practice. In addition, how-
ever, he will now also lead the company’s
newly consolidated convention, trade
show and event management service
units.
Alexis Terry has joined
ASAE & The Center for
Association Leadership as
director of diversity and
inclusion. Terry, who previ-
ously held several positions at Board-
Source, an organization dedicated to
developing nonprofit boards, will help
develop and facilitate for the association
a strategic, organization-wide diversity
initiative.
The Professional Convention Management Association has promoted Melissa
Bronstein, chapter relations specialist,
to manager of chapters and membership development. Prior to joining PCMA,
Bronstein spent three years as an events
and special projects planner, followed by
three years in sales.
The American Veterinary
Medical Association in
Schaumburg, Ill., has hired
Heather Jensen as assis-
tant director of marketing
in its communications division. Jensen,
who has more than 13 years of marketing
experience, was marketing manager at
the American Marketing Association from
2004 until 2007. Most recently, however,
she was manager of global customer programs for public software company SPSS
Inc.
Jayne DeLuce has joined
the Champaign County Con-
vention & Visitors Bureau in
Champaign, Ill., as its new
executive director. Most
recently, DeLuce was associate director
of campus recreation at the University of
Illinois, where she worked for 10 years.
Industry veterans Kevin
Ordonez and Rob Miller
have founded a new Chicago-based association
consultancy, Association-CIO. In their new venture,
Ordonez, CEO, and Miller,
principal — both previously
of Avectra — provide IT
and CIO outsourcing
services to member-based
organizations.

Atlanta-based trade show production company TradeshowLogistics has
announced the addition of Butch Bartlett
to its board of directors. Bartlett, who has
more than 30 years of experience in the
trade show and event industry, plans to
help expand the company’s marketing,
sales and strategic growth plans.
Gaylord Entertainment
Company, which owns
convention center hotels
in Nashville, Washington,
D.C., Orlando and Dallas,
has promoted Kemp Gallineau, senior
vice president and general manager of the
Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Cen-
ter in Orlando, to senior vice president
and chief sales officer for Gaylord Hotels.
Prior to joining Gaylord in 2001, Gallineau
held positions with the Walt Disney World
Swan and Dolphin Resorts, Westin and
Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Brian Fedorowicz has been
named associate vice presi-
dent of convention sales for
VISIT DENVER. Previously, he
was director of sales and mar-
keting for Destination Hotels and Resorts,
where he was 2009 sales leader of the year.
Sharon Mellor, Ph.D., has
joined College of DuPage in
Glen Ellyn, Ill., as associate
vice president of develop-
ment, as well as executive
director of the College of DuPage Founda-
tion. Most recently, Mellor was executive
director of the American Academy of Peri-
odontology Foundation in Chicago.
The Vancouver Convention
Centre has hired Chris Gowe
as director of sales. Previ-
ously, Gowe was vice presi-
dent of DMG World Media’s
West Coast Gift Group in Los Angeles.
The Puerto Rico Convention
Bureau has hired David
Kinney as regional sales
manager in its Chicago
office. Previously, Kin-
ney was senior sales manager at Hotel
Orrington in Evanston, Ill.
