APICS The Association for Operations Management’s Future Leaders program
is like a three-pronged forklift aimed at raising the 34,000-member group to
new heights. The outgoing association board president serves as a mentor to
the Future Leaders class — made up of eight professional members — and
chooses a mission for the class, a project that advances the profession while
growing the individual team members. In the midst of its second year, the
Future Leaders program is regarded as a solution for succession planning and
an opportunity for veteran volunteers to leave a lasting legacy.
