The city of Rosemont, Ill., has followed
in Chicago’s footsteps by endorsing the
landmark convention reforms that were
passed last year for McCormick Place.
The reforms — which were passed in
May 2010 by the Illinois state legislature
— established new labor work rules at
McCormick Place, where they also have
expanded exhibitor rights and made it
possible for shows to select outside electrical and foodservice contractors. In a letter to its customers, Rosemont’s Donald
E. Stephens Convention Center said the
cost-saving measures enacted in Chicago
would be implemented and duplicated
for Rosemont exhibitors, effective immediately.
