This year’s conference took place at Mor-
gan Manufacturing, a building that itself
has been constructed, deconstructed and
reconstructed over the past 160 years.
Built to be the home of the Salisbury
building survived the
Fire and operated as a
plant for many
being rechristened as an
office space in
Attendees were treated to the historical
thrill of being viewing some of the original
machines and infrastructure that Morgan
Manufacturing keeps on display.
The event opened with a keynote speech
from Anne Houghton, VP of Experience
Design at Freeman. Anne discussed strategies around using technology to maximize attendee experience at meetings.
Dr. James Pogue, a nationally
renowned speaker on leadership, brought
the educational portion of the day to
a rousing close. His remarks provided
thought-provoking commentary on the
intersection of multiple generations in the
workplace, the growing divides between
those generations and the need for diversity and inclusion among the upper echelons of business.

On June 28, over 300 association professionals gathered at Morgan Manu-
facturing in Chicago for Association Forum’s reimagined annual confer-
ence, Forum Forward. The theme this year was “Construct. Deconstruct.
Reconstruct.” Attendees were encouraged to explore the ways that they
could deconstruct the existing paradigms within their organizations and
reconstruct them into models that can sustain and thrive in the future.
